Karma de la Luna - the ambient solo project of Wim Daans, aka Shaï de la Luna - released several tracks and a full album on the Barramundi record label in the late nineties.
Travel Without Moving became an instant classic in the genre, and although it was critically acclaimed and distributed worldwide, it wasn't a commercial success initially.
After the folding of the Barramundi label, the Karma de la Luna album became a much sought after collectors item, and it still is today.
In 2003 Sha
ï released a follow up album - A Masterplan for the Addict - on his own label , but also that album never really took off , partly due to the eclectic musical style, and a total lack of promotion, distribution and marketing.
Karma de la Luna is now a derelict project , but Wim Daans is still making music that's true to the spirit of that spaced out ambient area.
Please do check out his
Pulse Mandala project : it's pretty mindblowing !
The 2 Karma de la Luna albums finally got re-released on
Bandcamp.in 2015, and are totally worth checking out !
